Most declines are fixable. They come from a handful of patterns in the statements or the application, and almost every one can be corrected within a month or two. Here they are, with the fix.
1. Revenue under the minimum
Fix: route all business income through one account and reapply once the three-month average clears $20,000.
2. Fewer than six months in business
Fix: wait. Keep the business account active and apply the month you cross six months of deposits.
3. Personal account used for business
Fix: open a business checking account in the legal name and give it three months of deposits.
4. Frequent NSFs and negative days
Fix: thirty clean days helps; ninety clean days usually resolves it entirely.
5. Stacked financing
Several daily payments to other funders already consuming a large share of deposits. Fix: ask about consolidation, or wait until one balance is paid down.
6. Name mismatch
Application says 'Smith Trucking LLC', bank says 'J. Smith'. Fix: match the legal name on both before applying.
7. One large deposit, nothing else
A single monthly wire reads as concentration risk. Fix: it is still fundable at a lower amount; note who the payer is and how long the relationship has lasted.
8. Declining trend without explanation
Fix: one sentence on what changed and what is planned, or wait for a month that reverses the trend.
9. Open bankruptcy or active judgments
Fix: a discharged bankruptcy is fundable; an open one is not. Wait for discharge.
Reapplying
Affirmative Funding uses a soft credit pull, so a declined application leaves no mark and reapplying after the fix costs nothing.
